Any ideas, what is that thing in front of the front wheel? As there are no more mirrors, I believe it might be some kind of lane assistance stuff?

Aye, the rollers are there on the front wheels because this service runs on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway - see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridgeshire_Guided_Busway - it also has multiple view cameras instead of mirrors.
I believe that these have come in to replace the 2009 Enviro 400s like this: https://busphoto.club/view/3500/ that have had the guiding rollers removed. These '09 Enviro 400s will now run the 5 and 6 services that used to run by ALX400s that have gone up to Stagecoach Manchester
